    Women are under-represented in tech industries. Some statistics show that women make up only 30% of the tech industry and only 20% of computer science jobs. Gender discrimination, harassment, underpaying, and stereotypical views that women are only suited for housework and childcare are some of the key issues women face. Lack of family support, opportunities, and favoritism also contribute to the under-representation of women in tech. Counselling of children and parents is needed to break down discrimination. Technology should have no gender bias but more efforts are needed to achieve equal representation of women.

    Stereotypical Views
    Women are pressurized to stop learning and
    not get jobs by their family, in laws etc. ,as
    they are believed to be made for house chores
    and childcare only.
    Lack of Family
    Support
    Discouragement and lack of support from
    family lowers the confidence of women. This
    results in self-imposed constraint and makes
    them get inferiority complex.
    Lack of Opportunities
    There is absence of competition in the
    industry. It is generalized that women don't
    have the same standards as men in the
    industry. Therefore they are provided with
    less opportunities.
    Favoritism
    Women sometimes do receive favours on the basis of their
    gender but this rarely happens, also this favouritism in
    most cases has undertones of objectifying women in some
    way.
    Counselling Issues
    The restructuring will begin with the ideas of
    counselling the children as well as their parents
    that these children are not just your, but the future
    of the whole nation. We, as a nation, have to
    come together to break this discrimination.
    Educated Bride

    The bizarre idea of an educated bride pressurizes


    women to pursue education in specific field just to
    marry good, and their true passions are lost
    somewhere in all of this.
    Conclusio
    nentered every aspect of our lives. Yet too
    Technology has no gender, and it has
    often, women are under-represented in tech. Right now, as we speak, a whole
    new era of is unfolding across the world.
    Technology needs more women – let’s make it happen.
