FINGERPRINT PULSE OXIMETER
▪ A clip-like, cuboidal testing device
▪ Measures Blood Oxygen Saturation Level
(SpO2)
▪ Provides a reading within seconds
▪ No invasive means

▪ Measure the SpO2 level
▪ Monitor pulse rate
▪ Evaluating the effectiveness of a
new medicine

STEPS TO FOLLOW

1. Rest your hand on your chest at heart

level and hold still.

2. Switch the oximeter on and place it

on your finger.

3. Keep it in place for at least a minute.

4. Check the readings - oxygen level and


heart rate. Identify which one's which.

5. Take note of any reading that stays the same
for at least 5 seconds.

6. Remove the oximeter from the finger.

7. Record the readings on a smartphone app or


in a paper diary as required.

CAUTIONS
▪ Remove any sort of nail paint or fake nails.
▪ Ensure the device’s security on the finger.
▪ Take at least 3 readings.
▪ Know the normal range of measurements for your age and health condition.
▪ Make sure that you’ve been resting for at least 5 minutes before using the
device.
▪ Warm your hands if they are cold.
IMPORTANT NOTES

▪ Most accurate reading - Middle finger of the right hand


▪ For an average healthy adult,
Normal range for oxygen saturation – 95 to 100%
Normal pulse rate – 60 to 100 beats/min.
