Eid-Al-Adha is one of the greatest festivals
of Muslims. Eid is an arabic word with
meaning festivity. Adha meaning sacrifice.
For Muslims is the occasion is to show
gratitude to god and remember him.

Eid-Al-Adha means “Festival of the Sacrifice”.

And the history of this celebration, is quite
symbolic as well
History of Eid Al Adha
Abraham, an ardent devotee
of God, had to face one of
the major challenges- to
follow God’s commands. It
was said in the Quran that he
kept having dreams of him
slaughtering (here,
sacrificing) his own son to
fulfil god. Believing that it
was his command that had to
be done, he had informed his
son of the sacrifice, who
agreed without hesitance. It
is further said, that Abraham
had been provoked
(attempted) constantly by
Satan
Abraham drove away Satan by
throwing pebbles . Abraham’s actions
proved his devotion, and God
acknowledged that he was willing to
sacrifice what was dear to him. Angel
Gabriel, came forth to Earth, with a
lamb offering from heaven, and
remarked that Abraham having fulfilled
the revelations, could sacrifice the
lamb instead of his son. . Muslims
around the world celebrate Eid as to
remember Abraham’s devotion as an
ideal of obedience, and remark the
survival of Ishmael.
