what is curriculum ?

 Curriculum is a standards-based sequence

of planned experiences where students
practice and achieve proficiency in content
and applied learning skills. Besides,
Curriculum is the central guide for all
educators as to what is essential for
teaching and learning, so that every student
has access to rigorous academic
experiences.
 CURRICULUM DIFFERENCES BETWEEN
MALAYSIA AND SINGAPORE
MALAYSIA
 The early childhood curriculum focuses on
building relationships, developing physical skills,
and teaching developmentally appropriate practices
 Curriculum refers to an interactive teaching and
learning system with specific goals, content,
strategies, measurement and resources
 The curriculum emphasizes the acquisition of
reading, writing and arithmetic skills
SINGAPORE
 Singapore focuses on teaching students practical,
problem-solving skills they can utilize for real-life
experiences.
 Curriculum includes ten subjects namely English,
mother tongue, mathematics, science, art, music,
physical education, social studies and character and
citizenship education
