stunting, wasting, anemia, vitamin and mineral deficiencies,
weakened immunity, and increased risk of infections and chr
onic diseases
5.LACK OF ACCESS TO
NUTRITIOUS FOOD

Lack of access to nutritious food is a major cause of


food insecurity, which means not having enough or
not being sure of having enough food for an active
and healthy life. Food insecurity can affect people’s
health, well-being, and development.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), f
ood insecurity can lead to malnutrition, which include
s undernutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, overweig
ht, and obesity

FOOD INSECURITY IS A SITUATION WHERE PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE


REGULAR ACCESS TO ENOUGH SAFE AND NUTRITIOUS FOOD FOR
NORMAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT AND AN ACTIVE AND
HEALTHY LIFE. FOOD INSECURITY CAN BE CAUSED BY VARIOUS
FACTORS, SUCH AS POVERTY, CONFLICT, CLIMATE CHANGE,
NATURAL DISASTERS, POOR INFRASTRUCTURE, LOW AGRICULTURAL
PRODUCTIVITY, AND FOOD WASTE.
7.POOR SANITATION AND
HYGIENE

Poor sanitation and hygiene are major


causes of disease and death, especially in
low-income countries. Poor sanitation
means lack of access to safe and adequate
facilities for disposing of human and
animal waste, such as toilets or latrines.
