Introduction of the place
Guatavita is a beautiful natural region located in the Cundinamarca department of Colombia. The area is
known for its temperate and pleasant climate, with temperatures averaging around 18°C (64°F) throughout the
year. It's also home to the stunning Laguna de Guatavita, a lake that measures approximately 20 hectares in
size and is surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

Despite its natural beauty, Guatavita is not heavily advertised as a tourist destination and therefore remains
less crowded than other popular sites in Colombia. However, this also means that there are fewer services
available for visitors, so it's recommended that you plan ahead and bring everything that you need for your
trip.
Where to Stay in Guatavita
There are several lodging options available for visitors to Guatavita, ranging from budget-friendly hostels to
luxury hotels. Many accommodations offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains and forests, and
some even offer eco-friendly options for travelers concerned with sustainability.

While Guatavita is not as heavily visited as other tourist destinations in Colombia, it's still recommended that
visitors book their accommodations in advance to ensure availability.
