Self-Determination
Theory (SDT)
The concept of "self-determination" as
proposed by (Ryan & Deci, 2000), focuses on
developing students' innate interests and
passions as a technique of keeping them
actively involved and improving their
performance in class.

5
Expectancy-Value
Theory(EVT)
According to the Expectancy-Value
Theory established by (Eccles, 2002),
students' desire to succeed in school
depends on their perceptions of the
task's significance and the likelihood
of their own success at it.

7
Achievement Goal
Theory (AGT)
The Achievement Goal Theory was
developed by the authors in an effort to
learn more about how students' goal
orientations impact their motivation
and performance in the classroom.

9
Social Cognitive Theory
The Social Cognitive Theory argues that self-
efficacy is a crucial component in
determining academic motivation. Self-
efficacy pertains to the cognitive constructs
that include students' perceptions of their own
capabilities to effectively execute certain
activities and attain desired goals.
