INTRODUCTION
 Understanding the forces acting on the structure and evaluating the element of safety .
 Analyzing the internal and exterior forces acting on a structure.Example: Dead loads , live loads , wind loads,
and other dynamic loads.
 factor of safety (FOS) analysis plays a crucial role in the design process.
 Expertise and experience are required to analyse the forces operating on a structure and determine the
appropriate factor of safety.
 During the analysis of actual structures, engineers collect data from site investigations, perform structural
assessments, and conduct non-destructive testing to gather information about the existing condition of the
structure.
 Engineers can evaluate the performance of real-world structures, spot potential threats, and come up with
viable solutions by doing force and factor of safety analyses.
 Engineers can evaluate a structure's stability and make educated design, maintenance, and risk mitigation
decisions by taking into account the forces operating on the structure and calculating the factor of safety .

 Our analysis involved examining the forces acting on the system and
conclusion determining the factor of safety based on the actual diagram.

 The equilibrium of the railway bridge was established by considering

the calculated bending moment and shear force values.

 In the final stages of our analysis, we examined the maximum

allowable force that the system can withstand.

 The factor of safety provides a measure of how much stronger the

system is compared to the expected loads and stresses it will
encounter.

 We gained valuable insights into the forces acting on the railway

bridge, calculated its mechanical properties, determined the maximum
allowable force, and evaluated the factor of safety of the system based
on the actual diagram.
