COURSE TITLE: ANG BÚHAY AT MGA AKDA NI RIZAL
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Sang-ayon sa ipinag-uutos ng Batas Republika 1425, sákop
ng kursong ito ang búhay at mga akda ng pambansang
bayani ng bansa, si Jose Rizal. Ilan sa mga paksang sákop ay
ang talambuhay ni Rizal at kaniyang mga isinulat, lalo na ang
mga nobela niyang Noli Me Tangere at El Filibusterismo, ilang
mga sanaysay, at iba't ibang liham.

PROGRAM GOAL: As contained in the “Global Standard for the Education and Training of the
Social Work Profession,” the core purposes of social work are as follow:
• “Facilitate the inclusion of marginalized, socially excluded, dispossessed, vulnerable and at-
risk group of people”.
• “Address and challenge barriers, inequalities and injustices that exist in society”.
• “Form short of longer-term working relationship with and mobilize individuals, families,
groups, organization and communities to enhance their well-being and their problem-solving
capacities”.
• “Assist and educate people to obtain services and resources in their communities”.
• “Formulate and implement policies and programs that enhance people well-being, promote
development and human right, and promote collective social harmony and social stability,
insofar as such stability does not violate human rights”.

• “Encourage people to engage in advocacy with regard to continent local,

of accepted and ethically sound legislation”.

The BSSW curriculum adheres to the global standards for social work
education and training but particularizes in contextualized and indigenous
nature of social work practice. The following are based on the global
standards but give special reference to the Philippine context:
• Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and attitudes in engaging in a generalist
helping process and planned change process for therapeutic, protective,
preventive, and transformative purposes.
• Analyze critically the origin, development, and the purposes of the social
work in the Philippines.
• Critique the impacts of global and national socio-structural inadequacies,
discrimination, and oppression on quality of life.
