FOREIGNERS I
Czech Language for Foreigners I

Requirements for course completion:


final examination: credit test Progress tests/Projects:

attendance: maximum two unexcused 4 progress tests, passmark 70%. Passing reduces the
absences passmark of the credit by 2% per successful test

Passmark: 70%, (4% for the oral)

may be reduced to 60% by passing


tests/completing homework
Sidenote: passing the credit is easier than
Scoring >90% on average in progress tests achieving 90% on every progress test, therefore
will automatically get the credit. divide your time wisely

Talking medicine: Czech for medical
students

Warning! Failure to pass Czech prevents enrollment in the next


semester of Czech. You will have to wait until the next spring semester
(2022) to repeat the failed semester of Czech.
LATIN I
(BASIC MEDICAL
TERMINOLOGY I)
Basic Medical Terminology I

Requirements for course completion: homework:


final examination: “weekly ROPOTs” (at least 70% must be
completed to sit the final exam! )
credit test 70% passmark, 60% if all
progress tests/classwork is completed project:
attendance: 10-15 minute presentation on a topic
explaining relevant terminology
maximum one unexcused absence, active
participation must include an interactive task for other
students

Tips:

● Memorize the declension table

● Constant revision! Study a few words


every day or two
BIOLOGY
Biology I

practice:
1 absence allowed but protocols Warning : students with less than
have to be filled and signed 24 total points may resit the
progress tests
2 progress tests: min. 24 points (or
passed credit test)
lecture: if the student cannot obtain 24
points after the resit, the student
Without examination in the winter must take the credit test

Requirements for course completion: Credit test (practice):

○ Lecture: Minimum 10 out of 20 points, multiple choice

Written exam (14/25 questions), if passed progress


to oral exam Study tips:
○ Practice: Read relevant topics before each practice. Being
fully unprepared will put you at risk of being thrown
Attendance 100% out of the practice. They don’t want to hear much but
at least the basics
Written lab report of the given practice, completed
during class

Multiple choice credit test at the end of semester

CHOOSE AN EARLY EXAM DATE SO THAT IN


CASE OF FAILING YOU WILL HAVE THE CHANCE
OF ATTEMPTING THE EXAM AGAIN BEFORE THE
BEGINNING OF SPRING SEMESTER

▪Repetition is key — make a study schedule so
that you cover all topics multiple times
▪ Diagrams are your best friend - practice drawing
schemes (only rough sketches)
