What is a group?
• A group is composed of two or more
persons who interact and are aware of
their being as part of the group. It is not
a mere collection of individuals but a
collection of personalities acting &
interacting with one another in the
process of living.
• For aggregates or categories to
become social groups, regular
interaction and a sense of
belongingness should have develop.
In reality, people initiate and nurture
relationship theylike and conversely
end those they don't.

• The interactions in primary groups are direct
and personal & are characterized by
personal orientation and long-term
relationships. Secondary groups are those
whose members have casual
(informal/temporary) contact. These groups
are characterized by goal orientation, short
term and variable relationships.
