What is Whisky or Whiskey?
Whisky or Whiskey is a distilled spirit and a type of liquor made from Fermented
grain mash e.g Barley, corn, rye and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden
casks, which are made of charred white oak casks for at least 3 years With the
ABV of 40%.
Whiskey with an 'e’ refers to Grain spirits distilled in Ireland and the
United States. Whisky with no 'e’ refers to Scottish, Canadian or other whisky
producing countries.
What is Single Malt Whisky?
◦ While a blended whisky is created from single malt whiskies and grain
whiskies taken from different distilleries, a single malt whisky can only be
produced from a single distillery. It also can only be made using a single
variety of malted grain, typically malted barley. However, contrary to what you
might assume, single malt whisky need not be the product of one single
whisky cask – indeed, they are almost always a blend of whiskies taken from
several casks. As long as these casks are all from the same distillery, the final
‘blend’ is considered a single malt.
Bushmills 12 year old Distillery Reserve is
matured mainly in former Spanish Oloroso
sherry casks which lend a deep amber color
and wonderful dried fruit aromas to this
whiskey.

The Glenlivet’s signature style, this classic malt is first
matured in traditional oak, before spending time in
American oak casks which impart notes of vanilla and
gives the whisky it’s distinctive smoothness.
Bowmore 12yo has a place in many hearts as Islay's
'medium-peated' malt. A pronounced iodine
character with plenty of pepper, the current 12yo
bottling is a welcome return to the classic
Bowmores of the 1960s and '70s, with the emphasis
on tropical fruit and smoke.

Brilliance was Paul John whisky's first move into the
premium spirits market back in 2013. Made using Indian
unpeated 6-row barley from the foothills of the
Himalayas, the whisky is matured in bourbon barrels for
between three and five years.
Bold by name, bold by nature - this is the
distillery's attempt at a peated malt. Bold is
made with entirely with Indian barley that has
been smoked using Islay peat to a level of
around 25ppm.
