The Parts of the
Plot
Topic Intro
The two important types of literature are prose
and poetry. The short story falls under the prose
category. Opposite, is the poetry, the stylish and
flamboyant type of self-expression. In this
chapter, we will explore the fusion of prose and
poetry in one literary work.
Prose and Poetry
• Poetry is a form of literature that
presents expressions in a stylish and
artistic language, involving figurative and
idiomatic words.
• Prose is the normal spontaneous form of
literature that presents a plain language
and shows a direct opposite of a poem.
First Existence
• In various situations, we always encounter
cases where there is a choice that comes first.
in the case of literature, which comes first,
PROSE? Or POETRY?
• The first ever recorded form of literature in
the history is the POETRY. Old literatures were
in poetic forms as evidenced by the existence
of Epic poetry.

Denouement Also known as the
falling action. This
contains the
resolution to the
conflicts involved
in the story.
Conclusion The ending of the
Story. Contains
the idea of
whether the
conflicts are
resolved or not.
