GROUP 2

Practical Research
Objectives :

•Enumerate the characteristics

•Define Quantitative Research and;

•Determine the scientific methods of quantitative research.

CHARACTERISTICS
OF RESEARCH
•Emperical
Based on observations and experimentation on theories.

•Systematic
Follows orderly and sequential procedure.

•Controlled
All variables except those that are tested/experimented upo
are kept constant.
•Employs hypothesis
Guides the investigation process.

•Analytical
There is critical analysis of all data used so that there is
no error in their interpretation.

•Objective, Unbiased and logical

All findings are logically based on empirical.
Quantitative Research
refers to the systematic investigation of any
phenomena via statistical, mathematical or
computational techniques. The objective of
quantitative research is to develop and employ
mathematical models, theories and/or hypothesis
pertaining to phenomena.
Quantitative research is generally made using
scientific methods, which can include:

•The generation of models, theories and hypothesis.

•The development of instruments and methods for

measurement.
•Experimental control and manipulation of
variables.

•Collecting of empirical data.

•Modeling and analysis of data.

•Evaluation of results.
