RECYCLING

PLASTIC INTO
SYNTHETHIC
FIBER
BY ReViveEco
INTRODUCTION
………………………………………………………………………………………
OUR PROJECT

• Synthetic fibers can indeed be produced by recycling plastic, specifically polyethylene

terephthalate (PET) plastic. PET is commonly used in the production of single-use plastic
bottles, food containers, and various other plastic products. Recycling PET plastic to create
synthetic fibers is an eco-friendly approach that helps reduce plastic waste and the demand for
virgin materials.

GOAL

• Household Recycling • Electronic Waste

• Commercial and Industrial Waste • Automotive Industry
• Retail and Supermarkets • Medical and Healthcare Facilities
• Restaurants and Food Services • Events and Gatherings
• Construction and Demolition • Agriculture
2
PRIMARY GOAL

• Promoting Environmental Sustainability

• Supporting Circular Economy
• Innovating Recycling Techniques
• Reducing Pollution
• Reducing Energy Consumption

MATERIAL
CLASSIFICATION
Based on Composition and Type of Plastic:

•PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate): Used in beverage bottles and food containers.

•HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene): Used in milk jugs, detergent bottles, and plastic bags.

•LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene): Used in plastic bags, wraps, and some containers.

•PP (Polypropylene): Used in food containers, caps, and some packaging.

•PS (Polystyrene): Used in foam cups, packaging, and disposable cutlery.

•Other Plastics: Miscellaneous plastics that don't fall into the categories above.

MACHINARIES
• SHREDDER

WORK

A machine used to shred plastic waste into smaller pieces or flakes, making it
easier to process further. Shredding improves the efficiency of subsequent steps.

7
MACHINARIES
• Washing System

WORK

Equipment to wash and clean the shredded plastic flakes to remove dirt,
contaminants, and residues. A washing system might include a combination of
mechanical and chemical processes.

8
MACHINARIES
• Extruder

WORK

An extrusion machine melts the cleaned plastic flakes and pushes them through a
die to create continuous plastic strands. Extruders are essential for further
processing plastic into various forms.

9
FINAL OUTCOME
•A significant amount of plastic waste was collected and recycled, diverting it from
landfills and water bodies.
•Increased awareness and understanding of plastic waste issues within the community.
•Improved plastic waste management habits among community members, including
proper separation and disposal of plastics.
•Strengthened community bonds and engagement through collaborative efforts for a
shared cause.
•The project left a positive impact on the local environment, reduced plastic pollution,
and inspired ongoing initiatives for sustainable living.
