PROBLEM STATEMENT

The inappropriate way for the

detection of spoiled edible fish
quality leads to health problems.
BASE WORK
 The core technique involves training ML models like regression,.
SVM, neural networks etc. using features correlated with fish
freshness.
 Features can be derived from images, spectroscopy, electronic
nose data, biosensors etc.
 Models learn the relationship between these features and quality
 labels to predict freshness.
 Builds on prior work in food quality prediction using spectroscopy
and other sensing.
OBJECTIVES

1. The main goal is developing accurate data-driven models for

predicting fish quality/freshness categories from relevant sensor
data.
2. Reduce human subjectivity in quality evaluation and speed up
the grading process.
3. Aim to build intelligent systems for consistent, rapid freshness
determination in fish supply chain.
4. Help minimize food loss from spoilage and ensure fish marketed
is of acceptable quality.
TITLE

A Machine Learning Approach for

Predicting Edible Fish Quality
APPLICATIONS OF OUR IDEA:

• The trained models can be integrated into quality inspection

systems in processing plants, aquaculture sites, markets etc.

• Models automatically predict quality grades of fish based on

sensor input data. This enables rapid, objective freshness
evaluation to sort catch, check shelf-life, and identify spoilage.

• Portable systems could allow on-site quality assessment.

Current Progress

• We have created a custom dataset of the

various types of fish
• The custom data set has been annotated into
various types by using roboflow
