• Individuals are born equal and should have equal
opportunities

Individualism- central principle of liberalism

• Preserve institutions and is reflected in resistance
to change.

Tradition- reflects the accumulated wisdom of the past

M Pragmatism- they place their faith on experience and history

Reason- individuals have the capacity to correctly decide

Human Imperfection- individuals are dependent and seek security in the familiar
and the known

Organicism- organic whole

Hierarchy individuals occupy different positions in society

Authority- clear sense of who they are and what is expected of them

Property- provides security to people

• Group of people exercises power and decides the
course of action
