Introduction
Asif Rice Mill was establish in 1982 at Port Qasim in Karachi. He was farmer and it
was the vision of Mr. Shah Muhammad to establish the milling Unit to support the
farmers.

History
Asif rice mill is owned by an agro based family having ancestral routes in the
rice sector from farming to retail distributor since 1962. ARM journey start’s
from larkana city located in Sindh.
This city is known by the biggest cultivation of rice. Asif rice mill established
itself with cutting edge technologies, value added services and well trained
human resources throughout rice growing milling processing and export.
Infrastructure
Rice is growing in fertile lands of Punjab and Sindh province of Pakistan
ARM has numerous rice farms. Here the rice is grown with by care of
specialized farmers.
The rice come to the Port Qasim Karachi milling units from farms. The
ARM start the milling Process and export the quality that the world needs.

ARM located area is approximately

3,00,000 square feet.
The mill holds capacity of producing 5000
metric tons . The ARM producing 52 metric
tons per hour and more than 1000 metric
ton per day that compliance with the
international quality standard.
Milling Process
Pre-cleaner
When the paddy( raw rice ) comes to the
mill, it contains lots of foreign materials
such as dust, unwanted grain, plastic etc.
The Pre-cleaner machine cleans the
paddy from such materials & make them
available for the next step.

De-stoner
After the paddy raw rice is gone through
the re-cleaner, then it goes through the
de-stoner machine. The main purpose of
this machine is to remove stones mud or
similar in size or shape impurities from the
rice.
De-husker
The paddy( raw rice) then goes through the de-
huskers. They remove husk from paddy so by
removing the husk brown rice (bran) are
produced (0 % polished rice)

Paddy separator
After the de-husking process, if any
paddy rice are left then the paddy
separator separates the paddy from
brown rice, making it easier to go ahead
for the next procedure.
Whitener machine
The brown rice goes through the whitener
machine. The purpose of this machine is to
remove the bran from the rice & make them
white.

Mist polisher
The white rice then goes through mish
polisher. This machine polishes the rice by
soaking the rice in water for several hours.
After this process, the white rice become
shinier.
Grader
The rice are then gone through the grader
machine. The purpose of this machine is to
separate the rice of equal sizes such as 20%
broken are separated. & 50% broken are
separated.

Colour sorter
Then the rice are passed through the color
sorter machine. This machine is expensive
from other machines and is fully automated.
It removes the damaged rice from the
process such as the bran rice etc.

Packing machine
This is the last step of the rice processing.
This machine packs the rice in different
size bags such as 20kg , 50kg, 100kg bags
etcetera as per the requirement.
