Introduction:

ATTACK OF 9/11
• On September 11, 2001, 19 militants from with Al-Qaeda hijacked a series of Planes.

• Two of the planes were flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York
City.

• Third plane hit the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C. and the
fourth plane crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

• Which caused the death of 2977 people.

• Considered the deadliest terrorist at the soil of the U.S.

REACTION OF USA
• US Govt. asked the Islamic Govt. of Afghanistan to hand over Osama bin Laden and the
terrorists who were involved in this terrorist attack.

• Two of the planes were flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York
City.

• Caliph of the Afghanistan Mullah Muhammad Omar denied this request by saying that the
US govt. didn’t provide enough proofs that can declare Bin Laden as the mastermind of
this attack.

• In response to this, President George W. Bush said "Either you are with us or you are with
the terrorists”.

• The US decided to escalate the war on Afghanistan to capture Osama bin Laden leader of
Al-Qaeda and called this war as “WAR ON TERROR” .
PAKISTAN AS HELPING HAND
• To launch a successful attack on Afghanistan US needed local support which forced them
to get help from Pakistan

• Chief Marshal Law Administrator Pervez Musharraf agreed to help in the so called
“War on terror” .

• Provided logistics and military support to US and NATTO forces in Afghanistan.

• Terrorist made safe heavens.

• Pakistan faced a wave of terrorism

Unfortunately 940 civilians were killed in this operation.


IMACT ON PAKISTAN
• The security situation in the country has been deteriorating since the early 2000s.

• War resulted in a decrease in foreign investment, disruption of trade and commerce.

• The military operations have caused damage to roads, bridges, and other public
infrastructure.

• Pakistan has suffered from decades which have had a negative impact on its tourism
industry.

• The country has also been a major victim of the war in Afghanistan, with thousands of
people suffering from PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
