Main Idea • The main idea is for people to
not waste time, because things
go very fast. Live life each day to
its fullest.
 The musical takes place in New York. There is a
group of friends, Mark, Rodger, and Tom Collins.
Who you are introduced to in the opening song
'Rent'. Which is about the group struggling to
pay rent. The main part of the story happens on
Christmas Eve and day but the story continues
to move on even after that. Then we meet Angel
Summary of who is a trans drummer. Who found Collins hurt
in the street and decided to help him. Then
the Musical Rodger meets Mimi. Then we are introduced to
Maureen and Joanne. Maureen of who used to
date, Mark. Eventually, everyone has a sort of
fall out including Maureen and Joanne. Then
Angel dying of AIDS. Then couples separate due
to differences and other factors. And then
Mimi almost dies of AIDS. In the end, everyone
gets back together.
