Definition of terms
Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK)
is the blending
or amalgamation of pedagogy and subject content
knowledge (Sulman).

 basically covers the ‘what’ and ‘how’ of teaching.

 According to Shulman, PCK was not something new
because even as early as in the 1950’s, both content and
pedagogy were regarded as one indistinguishable body
of knowledge whereby content is about what is known
and pedagogy is about how to teach it (1986b).

How do we do it?
Within Curriculum Areas- it refers to the inclusion of
appropriately chosen intradisciplinary topic and
enabling learning competencies within curriculum
guide of a specific learning area and grade level.
Across Curriculum Areas- it refers to making
meaningful connections and including appropriate
interdisciplinary topics and learning competencies
cited in the curriculum guide of other learning areas
in any grade/year level.
Intradisciplinary –integrating within one subject area to other
grade/year level.
Interdisciplinary- integrating within one subject area in the form
of deep questioning and HOTS, looking for common learnings
in different disciplines.
Multidisciplinary-integrating to more than one subject area.
Transdisciplinary- integrating the subject area taught in school
to the real life situation of the learners.
