BRIGADA PAGBASA / SCHOOL- BASED READING PROGRAM 2022-2023

Allington quoted that, “the best way to become a better reader is to read more.” That is
why, Camohaguin Elementary School come up with projects that involves reading enhancement
for struggling readers and reading advancement for independent readers.
August 29, 2022 –Brigada Pagbasa was
conducted in Camohaguin Elementary School.
The launched of Brigada Pagbasa was
supervised by the School Principal, Mr.
Remegio R. Capili, headed by Mrs. Madel M.
Taňola as the School Brigada Coordinator and
with the collaboration and effort of CES
teachers.

Brigada Pagbasa Program aims to make

every learner a reader by engaging partners and
stakeholders to promote the culture of reading.

As an after-school reading program in

response to Hamon: Bawat Bata Bumabasa or
DepEd 3B Initiative released under DM 173, s.,
Brigada Pagbasa is a subset of Brigada
Eskwela. 2019. All Brigada Ekwela
implementers are encouraged to take part in this
partnership project for reading, which acts as a
hub for coordinating initiatives aimed at
eliminating the literacy and numeracy
achievement disparities.
Accordingly, Camohaguin ES focuses on teaching reading on Friday morning while doing
reading remediation immediately after finishing classes. Teachers used a variety of reading materials at
the Brigada Pagbasa to highlight them to the students and encourage them to read. Every child is eager
to learn and you can see it in their eyes when they read during remedial time.
For our learners, the School Learning Hub comes highly recommended. Reading instructors will
be parents and teachers who will volunteer their time. The goal of this project is to persuade parents
and partners to help the school promote and set up affordable, imaginative, and practical learning
spaces at the reading kiosk to foster academic ease. Volunteering as a tutor in the school's learning hub
can help students become more creative, focus better, and have more desire to read and learn. We can
design productive learning environments for students with the assistance of our stakeholders and
partners, using a minimal amount of resources and creativity.
