Reading A1/A2

INTRO
 STRATEGY 1: Letter Perception
 STRATEGY 2: Word Perception
 STRATEGY 3: Word Comprehension
STRATEGY 1: LETTER PERCEPTION

These drills consist of a meaningless unit of letters on the left, followed by five units of
letters on the right. The key unit is repeated once among the five groups written on the
right.
With these types of tasks:
• Your reading comprehension and reading speed will improve.
• This task will help you see faster and more accurately.
• The more you practice, the better your reading skills will be.
• The letter units obviously have no meaning. So relax, let your eyesight do most of
the work.
• React quickly to each unit as a whole.
• Develop an easy but accurate left-to-right eye motion along the line.
• Don’t analyze your answers, expect to make some errors.
• Trust yourself and your eyes

• At first you don’t need to know the meaning of through words, remember we are
training
your perception.
• Little by little your brain will make the necessary connections as you follow a
sentence in
context.

possible.

word with the closest meaning, among the five words on the right.
With these types of tasks:
• You are working to develop not only rapid eye movement and reaction, but also a quick
grasp of
meaning.
• Do not block yourself if you don’t know the meaning of one word, just continue with the
next key
word, don’t waste your time.
• Don’t forget to add the words you missed to your Personal Vocabulary journal.
