A. Background
This research is motivated by the
interest of researchers in knowing
all things related to autism. The
research also looked at phenomena
around the neighborhood where
they lived, there were several
families who were suspected of
having children with special needs
with autism, this researchers saw
that some of their children often
screamed unclearly and there were
children who looked angry alone
for no reason, thereby causing a
feeling of fear to the people
around.
According to WHO (2021) reports 1 in 270
people are diagnosed with autism, the WHO
estimate of international prevalence
reaches 0,76%, while Indonesia according to
BPS there are currently around 270,2
million. The statistical data center for
special schools records the number of
autistic students of school age in Indonesia
in 2019 as many as 144, 102 this figure has
increased compared to 2018. Currently the
number of autistic children is recorded in
the West Java education office as many as
1.524 with the first number in Bandung 35%
and Cimahi 31%.
