EURPEON UNION AND
ITS TRADE WITH
PAKISTAN
The European Union (EU) is a political and economic union of
27 European countries that are located primarily in Europe.

The EU-Pakistan preferential trade agreement, facilitated by

the Generalized System of Preferences, allows Pakistan to
export a variety of products to the EU market with reduced or
no tariffs. Its primary objective is to enhance trade between
the EU and Pakistan.

Pakistan primarily exports textiles, clothing, agricultural

products, and machinery to the EU. In contrast, the EU exports
machinery, chemicals, vehicles, and pharmaceuticals to
Pakistan.

7. More employment opportunities
8. Fewer trade barriers so access is easier
9. EU countries, politically and economically stable so fewer
changes in market trends expected
Pakistan can face sanctions due to escalating
terrorism and worsening law and order.
