REGISTRATION AS EXPORTER

The Registry of Exporters is the first step that an entrepreneur must follow to
start the export process before the Foreign Trade Single Window
 MARKET STUDY AND LOCATION OF POTENTIAL DEMAND

The export requires initially a selection of markets, where you can determine
the specific characteristics of the country or region where you want to export,
the identification of possible distribution channels, the export price of your
product, the habits and preferences of consumers abroad
LOCATION OF THE TARIFF POSITION

The tariff classification of a commodity is the initial step in an international trade

operation.

This classification will be governed by the provisions of the Harmonized

Commodity Description and Coding System (HS), whose main objective is to
establish a common numerical and text system, which allows similar products
that are traded internationally to be classified in the same openings.

To start your export process it is very important to know the difference between
a tariff and a tariff heading.
PROCEDURES FOR ITS APPROVAL

Consult DIAN if your product requires prior authorization for export

authorization. After processing them, you must send the Request for
authorization to send to the DIAN computer system.

The export of certain products requires that the exporter is registered

with the entity in charge of its control and / or approval.
 CUSTOMS PROCEDURES FOR DISPATCH BEFORE THE DIAN

Once the product is ready and according to the negotiation terms, using
incoterms according to what we use as a cargo agent (airway) or maritime
agent for the contracting of international transport, a password is
requested to access the information system of the DIAN , in which the
application for authorization of shipment is processed if it has a value
lower than USD $ 10,000, if it exceeds this amount it must be done
through a customs agent which is authorized by the DIAN. Some
documents must be attached:

 Commercial Invoice
 Packing list (if required)
 Sanitary records or Good looks (if required by the
product)
 Transportation document
 Other documents required to export the product
PAYMENT METHODS

It is important to take into account the means of payment used by

the client with which the export will be paid, for this there are
different means of payment:

 Bank transfers
 Credit letters
 Guaranteed letters
 Reservation guarantees
 Guaranteed letters
CURRENCY EXCHANGE EXCHANGE PROCEDURES

Normally it means money exchange, buying and selling foreign

banknotes: you go on vacation to the United States and exchange
euro bills for dollar bills. That is effectively a currency exchange,
but there are many other modalities.

In a broader definition, it is called currency exchange in general to

any operation for which a ticket, check, deposit, loan or any other
product, financial instrument or means of payment happens to be
expressed in a certain currency to be in a different currency.
