What is a Quadrilateral?

 The word quadrilateral is derived from the Latin words ‘Quadra’

which means four and ‘Latus’ means ‘sides’.
 A quadrilateral is a closed shape and a type of polygon that has
four sides, four vertices and four angles. It is formed by joining four
non-collinear points.
 The sum of interior angles of quadrilaterals is always equal to 360
degrees.
Types of Quadrilateral

Trapezium

Parallelogram

Squares

Rectangle

Rhombus

Kite
What is Perimeter?

 A perimeter is a total distance that

encompasses a shape, in a 2d plane.
How to Find Perimeter of a Quadrilateral?

 Perimeter of a Quadrilateral = a + b + c + d
Perimeter of Quadrilaterals
Let’s find out the perimeter of a
quadrilateral.
Step 1: Define.
The perimeter of the trapezoid can be calculated by adding the four sides together.

Step 2: Formula.
The formula used is where a, b, c, and d are the different side lengths.
Step 3: Identify measurements.
The four side lengths are 18mm, 18mm, 20mm, and 32mm.
Step 4: Input side lengths into the formula.
=18+18+20+32
Step 5: Add together the side lengths.
18+18+20+32=88
Step 6: List answer with units.
The perimeter of the quadrilateral is 88mm.
