FEAST DAY OF ST.

MARTHA of Bathany (she was more than just a busy sister)

As busy as we all remember her, Martha also understands where her heart is. Jesus may
have pointed out to her how Mary chose the better side of things but Martha also demonstrates
what it means to mourn and lament so that the Lord may heed to our call.

21
Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even
now I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you.” John 11:21-22

Same goes to our first reading today, we admire Jeremiah’s lamentations as he pours his
heart out to the Lord. It is like a song of brokenness that we all love to sing when we are sad. He
laments of the tribulation that Israel is facing and how one must never fail to hold on to God’s
Words in spite of the situation because God will make everything GOOD.

Both knew where their heart should be.

In this time of pandemic, our lives is in a state of mourning and lamenting. A time where
we contemplate where our hearts should truly rest. God understands we are under pressure and
knows that the harassments we see daily he won’t turn a blind eye. And as the saying goes, “IT IS
OK NOT TO BE OK” we as humans goes thru this process to help us reinforce our faith. We believe.
And when we have truly understood where & why we are right now, we can all truly say that:

27
…“Yes, Lord. I have come to believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, the one who is coming
into the world.” John 11:27 Bro. Tony Dacayo II 07.29.2020
