Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital is a multi-
specialty quaternary care hospital
located at Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune in
the western Indian state of Maharashtra.
It is India’s first HACCP and ISO:
2200:2005 certified hospital. The 500-
bed tertiary care facility is covered over
16 acres of land.

• The healthcare industry (also called the medical industry or health economy) is an aggregation and
integration of sectors within the economic system that provides goods and services to treat patients with
curative, preventive, rehabilitative, and palliative care.

• The healthcare industry is one of the world's largest and fastest-growing industries.[3] Consuming over 10
percent of gross domestic product (GDP) of most developed nations, health care can form an enormous
part of a country's economy.

• The delivery of healthcare services—from primary care to secondary and tertiary levels of care—is the
most visible part of any healthcare system.

• The healthcare industry plays a crucial role in the diagnosis, treatement and management of illness,
disease and injury. I also provides preventive, remedial and therapeutic services to patient

• As an intern in Finance and Accounts department at Aditya Birla Memorial

Hospital. My role involves work related at Bills Payable side like Paymemt,
Contra entries done in RHIS Software, GST and TDS working Preperation as
per Instruction of senior staff.

“ A comprehensive study on Goods and Service Tax

in Healthcare Industry.”
 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

• To learn the concept of GST in India.

• The general objective of the study is to get the practical insights of Goods
and Services Tax.
• To learn about the GST Registration Process.To learn about how to file GST
Return
• The objective of this study is to know the advantages and disadvantages of
GST on the service sector with respect to healthcare.
 SCOPE OF THE STUDY

• The study focuses on the efficiency of the Indian healthcare sector during pre
and post-GST implementation period.
 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY FOR THE
STUDY
• Both primary and secondary sources of data are used.
• Primary Data: I have consulted related departmental staff as a primary source.
• Secondary Data: The secondary data are collected from annual reports, brochures,
website of GST, different financial magazine, published documents.
• For the secondary data I used GST website, financial express website, and clear
tax website.
