Robert Peel, often referred to as Sir Robert Peel, was a
British statesman and politician who played a significant role
in the development of modern policing. He is best known for
establishing the Metropolitan Police Service in London in
1829, earning him the title of the "father of modern policing"
and the principles he laid out are known as the "Peelian
Principles."
