My Reason for
Picking the
School
I decided to pick this school
because this is where my mom
first taught out of college.
Additionally, I have grown up
close to the community and want
to learn more about the school
district.

Involvement
◦ Students have the opportunity to join a variety of club
sports including football and basketball that typically draw
in a big community audience
◦ Students also have the opportunity to join clubs or create
their own based off their interests
- North Central offers visual and performing classes, and a
recently renovated auditorium that seats 1255 people
◦ J. Everett Light(JEL) Career Center
-North Central partners with JEL to give to students the
opportunity to explore career fields such as the Culinary Arts,
Cosmetology, CAN prep, Medical Assisting, and Welding
◦ Advanced Placement program
- there are over 20 different college level classes that North Central
offers through the AP College Board that students can take for
college credit
◦ Advanced College Project School and
Community
- the ACP program, affiliated with Indiana University; Bloomington,
allows for students to earn college credit for college level credits
while still in high school. North Central currently offers 8 courses
through ACP
◦ International Baccalaureate Diploma Program
Involvement
- similar to the other two, IB is a pre-university course of study
however, it requires candidates to complete assessments in 6 subjects
over the two-year program
The Community
◦ The Monon Trail stretches throughout Marion
County and leads to the Monon Community
Center (10 minute drive from the school)
◦ Indy Phoenix FC is a low cost soccer club in
the community
◦ The community also has a YMCA that offers
various programs for students to get involved
in their community and participate in sports
◦ Businesses near by are Curlin and Clay Law,
Charles Schwab and Federal Home Loan
Bank of America, and Eli Lilly & Co
