Patterns of Changing Direct

• Statement
In the Indirect Statement we use the word that (bahwa)
as a liaison between the introductory sentence and the
words that are reported (kata yang dilaporkan). The
introductory sentences in the indirect statement are:

He said

He said to me that + reported words

He told me

 Direct
She said, " I will have cooked the food".

• Questions

If direct questions use question words

such as; Where, When, Why, What, Example :
Who, How, etc., then these words are
used as a liaison in the reported Speech.  Direct
The reported questions took a positive "Will i have eaten your cake when you come?" She asked.
form.  Indirect
She asked that she would have eaten your cake when you
come.

 Direct
Mr. Lani asked me, "Will you have lived in Papua?“
 Indirect
Mr. Lani asked me that i would have lived in Papua.
• Instructions

In a positive instruction we add to in front

of the instruction sentence, as a liaison
between the introductory sentence and the Example :
reported instruction. Introductory sentences  Direct
in this type are: Mrs. Enola told him, "You will have paid attention to what i
