Wrapping Around

Step 15.3 – Revolve It as a Surface
• Should Revolve & look like this.
• A Surface & NOT A PART should appear.
• Click Finished (Green Checkmark).
Step 16 – Lets Show All Parts
• Make the Part 1 show back up.
Step 17.1 – Make a New Offset Plane
• Create a new offset plane off any of the
existing planes, I choose the Top Plane.
Step 17.2 – Make a New Offset Plane
• Name it TEXT PLANE & I went up 3 Inches
with it.
Step 18.1 – Make a New Sketch
• Create a new sketch on the TEXT PLANE.

• Name the new sketch TEXT PLANE.

• Name the new sketch TEXT PLANE.
Step 19.1 – Text Tool
• Select the Text Tool.
• Click & Drag out somewhere on the Sketch.

• Type in your Text, I just typed the word TEXT.
• Click Finished (Green Checkmark).
Step 20.1 – Resize the Text
• It’s too BIG, so lets grab the Dimension Tool &
resize it down to fit.

• I made my text 1.5 inches tall to make it fit.
Step 21.1 – Center The Object(Text)
• Grab a Construction Line & go from corner to
corner across your object.
Step 21.2 – Center The Object(Text)
• Do it again from the other corner to corner
forming an X across your object.
Step 21.3 – Center The Object(Text)
• Select the insert point tool.
• Select the Crossing Point of your X.
Step 21.4 – Center The Object(Text)
• Choose the Concentric Constraint Tool.
• Select the Origin.
Step 21.5 – Center The Object(Text)
• Select the crossing point of our X, the new
POINT you just inserted.
Step 21.6 – Center The Object(Text)
• It should snap into place & be Centered!
• Need to make sure it’s sized to fit, & then
• Click Finished (Green Checkmark).
Step 22.1 – Cut the Object Out
• 3D View & we are going to Extrude.
Step 22.2 – Cut the Object Out
• Call it TEXT EXTRUDE.
Step 22.3 – Cut the Object Out
• Select Faces & then Click on the Text/Object.
Step 22.4 – Cut the Object Out
• Click the Remove & then Dropdown on the type
of Extrusion, we are NOT making a blind cut.
Step 22.5 – Cut the Object Out
• Select Up to a Part.
Step 22.6 – Cut the Object Out
• Click on Up to a Surface or Part.
• Select Surface 1.
Step 22.7 – Cut the Object Out
• It should look like this. It might not if you have
Part 1 hidden. (See next Slide)
Step 22.8 – Cut the Object Out
• Make sure PART 1 is marked as visible or you
won’t see this. Click Finished.
The Finished Look at It
• Hide the planes & change the color.
• Take a look at it & spin it around…
