Application Overview
What is IFMIS?
• Integrated Financial Management Information System
(IFMIS) is a computer-based system that automate and
store financial information in large organizations like
governments, multinational corporations and large
nonprofit institutions. The goal of these systems is to
increase access to information
• MoFEC is implementing IFMIS to improve the public
expenditure management processes, enhance greater
accountability and transparency across Federal Ministries,
Agencies, Regions, City Administrations, Zones and
Woredas.
• It is designed to make use of modern information and
communication technologies. The IFMIS implemented by
MoFEC is the latest version of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS)
comprising the following 9 modules.

Objectives of IFMIS
• Standardizing the processes across all Public bodies on
the financial accounting and reporting
• Enables all Federal Public Bodies and Regions to use a
single system with extensive reporting facility from the
same physical source.
• Facilitate fast and quality reporting procedures within
and across the Public Bodies.
• Enable quick consolidation mechanism
• Provides interfaces with other systems in Banks,
Customs and Revenue, Debt and Aid Management, or
other available systems at Federal Public Bodies.

Essentials of Oracle Applications
• Logging into Oracle Applications
• The first step in starting Oracle Applications is
to enter the appropriate URL for your site in
an Oracle Applications–certified browser. After
starting Oracle Applications, the first window
you see is the Login window. You need an
Oracle Applications Username and Password
to log in to Oracle Applications.
After you log in to Oracle Applications, your
E-Business Suite Home page is displayed from
where you can:
– Access and operate with E-Business Suite Applications
(Form based or self-service)
– View and respond to notifications
– Set personal User Preferences
– Navigate to other frequently used functions or Web
pages

Vs
Ifmis works on both browsers but we recommend you to use
Firefox for easy functionality while working with oracle forms.

1 Install Mozilla Firefox 3.0.3 version ONLY
After Successful installation open firefox
– Go to Tools then Option
– In Advance Tab Click Update
• Uncheck- Firefox, Installed Add-ons and Search Engines .....
• In Content Tab
• Uncheck- Block pop-up windows and click ok
Make 'http://ifmis.mofed.gov.et:8081' HOME PAGE.
You can view report on Scree view or export to PDF Document and Other office Programs
So Adobe acrobat Reader should be installed on the client PC.
Practical Session
• Install and Configure Java 6 update
• Install and Configure Firefox 3.0.3
• Configure Internet Explorer
• Install Adobe acrobat Reader (if not installed)
