organization so that an understanding
response results.
COMMUNICATION CHANNEL

It refers to the way this information flows

within the organization and with other
organizations. Decisions and directions
flow upward or downward or sideways
depending on the position of the manager
in the communication web.

Choosing Communication methods

The choice of channel depend on whether the

message is routine . Routine messages tend to
be straight forward and have minimal
ambiguity. Channels low in richness can carry
them efficiently .
Non routine communication are likely to be
complicated and have the potential for
misunderstanding. Managers can
communicate them effectively only by
selecting rich channels.
Information Security
Organization face security concerns

Monitor employee’s internet use , email ,

and phone conversations

Creating information security policies

• It takes little time and and energy .
low effort • DV: It is harder to feel

tricks . engage in it .
What makes someone engage in either
swallow or deep processing ?
1.Interest level
Interest level reflect the impact of
decision is going to have on our life . When
people are very interested in the outcome of a
decision , they’re more likely to process
information carefully .
2. Prior Knowledge
People who are very well informed about
a subject area are more likely to use controlled
processing strategies. They won’t readily
change their position unless very good ,
thoughtful reasons are provided .
3.Personality
Those who are lower in need for cognition are
more likely to us automatic processing
strategies , relying on intuition and emotion to
guide their evaluation of persuasive messages.
4.Message Characteristics
The message’s characteristics influence
automatic or controlled processing . Lean
messages encourage automatic processing .
