Introduction to Instrumental

Analysis
Analytical chemistry aims to
develop methods and tools for
determining the chemical
composition of the substances and
the amounts of the components.
Qualitative Analysis; To give
information about the
structure of matter, atomic,
ionic, molecular properties
and functional groups.
Classical methods
Includes gravimetric and volumetric
analysis methods.
Chemical substances are used in
the analysis of samples in which
simple laboratory materials such as
scales, calibrated glass materials,
heaters are used and where the
analyte (the substance to be
determined) is generally analyzed.
Instrumental Analysis Methods
In addition to general laboratory
equipment, various analytical devices
are used.
Measurements measured by analytical
devices;
A physical property of the substance, or
It is a physical size of the response of
the substance as a result of stimulation.
Measured Physical Dimensions of Matter
Changes in mass and mass of
material, physical states of matter
(melting, boiling), viscosity,
refractivity, current and potential
measurements (electrochemical
properties), light and radiation
(spectroscopy, polarimeter).
Quantitative analysis; determines
the amount of any component in
the substance.
Chemical analysis
1-Sampling, 2. Method Selection, 3-
Separation 4- Measurement, 5-
Evaluation consists of steps.
Analytical methods can be
classified as classical or
instrumental methods.
