1 Thessalonians 2: 1-12

“The Greater Thing”

 In our reading this morning contains the
story of the Apostle Paul in the ministry in
Thessalonica, the Apostle Paul came to
Thessalonica to preach the gospel and
advise the church there.In his evangelism,
the Apostle Paul testified about his ups and
downs in his ministry in Philippi, he
experienced persecution and humiliation
but the Apostle Paul was able to undergo it
with patience and courage only because
God always enabled him in preaching the
gospel.
Dalam pembacaan kita pada pagi hari ini
berisi kisah tentang Rasul Paulus dalam
pelayanan di Tesalonika, Rasul Paulus
datang ke Tesalonika untuk memberitakan
injil dan menasehati jemaat yang ada di
sana.Dalam penginjilan nya Rasul Paulus
bersaksi tentang suka dukanya dalam tuags
pelayanan nya di Filipi, Ia mengalami
penganiayaan dan di hina tetapi Rasul
Paulus mampu menjalani itu dengan penuh
kesabaran dan keberanian hanya karena
Tuhan yang senantiasa memampukan nya
dalam memberitakan injil.

The Apostle Paul was not a poor and stupid
person he was a rich and knowledgeable
nobleman but after he was called by God
the Apostle Paul's life changed. Even in
difficult circumstances the Apostle Paul
remained faithful to serve God because he
knew that the main thing in his life was to
serve God through preaching the gospel and
surrendering his life to God.
Rasul Paulus dulunya bukan lah orang
miskin dan bodoh dia adalah seorang
bangsawan yang kaya dan berpengetahuan
tetapi setelah ia terpanggil oleh Tuhan
kehidupan Rasul Paulus berubah. Meskipun
dalam keadaan yang sulit Rasul Paulus tetap
setia melayani Tuhan karena Ia tahu bahwa
yang terutama dalam kehidupan nya adalah
melayani Tuhan melalui pekabaran injil dan
menyerahkan kehidupan nya kepada Tuhan.
 Brothers and sisters, have we all as
Christians and children of God made God
the main thing in our lives? Have we given
time to God and even our lives are in God's
hands?
Saudara-saudara apakah kita semua sebagai
orang Kristen dan anak-anak Tuhan sudah
menjadikan Tuhan sebagai Hal yang utama
dalam kehidupan kita? Apakah kita sudah
memberikan waktu untuk Tuhan bahkan
kehidupan kita apakah sudah berada dalam
tangan Tuhan?

Sometimes we forget God and even rely
more on ourselves and our abilities that
make us become Christians only as an
identity and in worship it is only a
routine.Being a Christian by birth does not
guarantee our faithfulness to God when we
face various problems and challenges in
life. Therefore, let us put God first in our
lives and God will always help and bless us
all in living our lives Amen.
Terkadang kita melupakan Tuhan bahkan
lebih mengandalkan diri sendiri dan
kemampuan yang kita miliki yang membuat
kita menjadi orang Kristen hanya sebatas
identitas semata dan dalam beribadah itu
hanya rutinitasBeragama Kristen sajak lahir
itu tidak menjamin kesetiaan iman kita
kepada Tuhan ketika kita menghadapi
berbagai persoalan dan tantangan hidup.
Oleh sebab itu marilah kita menjadi kan
Tuhan sebagai yang terutama dalam
kehidupan kita dan Tuhan akan senantiasa
menolong dan memberkati kita semua dalam
menjalani kehidupan kita Amin.
