Introduction (2-4 slides)
• Tell a little about yourself (keep it VERY short  )

• The reason for the study

• Give a VERY general overview of the research

findings based on your literature review

• The contribution you hope your study will make

3
Research Objectives
State the Research Problem and how your study will...

• Determine ………………………. or
• Discern whether ………… or
• Provide…... or other..

4
Variables and Definitions (2+ slides)
The major objective(s) for this research proposal is/are:
• List Variables (independent and dependent)
• Give the definition of each variables listed as stated in
the article where you found it

5
Literature Review – (Only mention literature based on the variables)
(NOTE: The font size can be a little smaller on this page only)

Hypothesis Diagram(s)
(Does not have to be look this… may look diagram in your main the article )

OCB

Job
Life
Satisfaction Satisfaction
Gap

Purpose
In Life
7
Hypotheses
• H1: (Example No significance differences exist between
Bahamian and American banking employee’s
altruism behavior)

• H2: (Example No significance differences exist between

Bahamian and American banking employee’s
conscientiousness behavior)

8
Measures
(This section tells where you got your survey questions from...VERY Important for BADM499)
• Job Satisfaction - Overall Job Satisfaction – 4 item
scale developed by Quinn & Shepard (1974) using a 7-
point scale

• Life Satisfaction - Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) –

5 item scale developed by Diener, Emmons, Larsen, &
Griffin (1985) using a 7-point scale

• Purpose in Life - Purpose in Life Test (PIL) – 20 item

scale developed by Crumbaugh & Maholic (1964)
using a 7-point scale, with 1 and 7 representing the
extreme responses
9
Data Collection Method
• EXAMPLE: Surveys will be hand delivered and picked-
up from each Banks’ Human Resources Department
• EXAMPLE: Human Resource Directors will randomly
distribute surveys in security envelopes
• EXAMPLE: Each security envelope will contain a survey
with general directions and a consent form

10
Methodology: Data Analysis
(Statistical method used in the articles where you variables come from)

• (Multiple Regression, Regression, ANOVA) – go back through

your articles and see which data analysis method you would
implement.

• Descriptive Statistics – List the ones you are going to

include… NOTE: All surveys should have them for BADM499)
 GenderMartial status  Education
 Race  Nationality,  Age
 Tenure Income

11
Limitations of the Study…(could be any of the following or something else)
• Issues with sample and selection.
• Insufficient sample size for statistical measurement.
• Lack of previous research studies on the topic.
• Limited access to data.
• Time constraints.
• Conflicts arising from cultural bias and other personal issues.
• Identify the limitation(s)
• Formulation of research aims and objectives. You might have
formulated research aims and objectives too broadly. ...
• Implementation of data collection method. ...
• Sample size. ...
• Lack of previous studies in the research area. ...
• Scope of discussions. 12
The Video Presentation
-Find a nice slide design for your presentation (Not too busy
and do not make the fonts too small)
-In closing, emphasize the importance of your study (Try to
convivence someone to fund it)
-DO NOT be afraid to add a few additional slides
-You WILL NOT have a findings or conclusion section since
you have not done the research yet (Do no speak in the past
tense…this is something you will be doing (BADM499)
NOTE: Video Presentations should ONLY be 7 to 10 minutes
long

Always remember to thank your audience 
