This document provides an overview of the parts of plants and their functions. It begins with learning objectives to identify plant parts and understand their functions. It then discusses leaves, roots, stems, flowers, and fruits - the key parts of a plant. It includes a group activity where students are divided into groups to draw and describe different plant parts. The document aims to teach students the basic anatomy and roles of the main plant structures.

Plant- A living thing that
usually produces seeds and typically has a stem, leaves, roots, and sometimes flowers. LET US SEE WHAT PLANT IS. A leaf is part of a plant that's usually green and attached to it by a stem or stalk. A plant's leaves are the organs that take part in photosynthesis, which brings it needed nutrients. Roots are the important underground part of all vascular plants. This part of the plant is mainly responsible for anchoring it down into the ground and absorbing the essential mineral elements, nutrients, and water from the soil. It is also used to store food. The Stem of the plant connects the roots to the leaves, helping to transport absorbed water and minerals to different parts of the plant. The stem also helps to transport the products of photosynthesis from the leaves to the rest of the plant. Flower- the part of a plant that is often brightly coloured and has a pleasant smell. Fruits develop from flowers. The fruit is the ripened ovary of a plant containing the seeds. Questions
