What is Love?
Love
• Agape – The highest form of love. Love for God or the “Creator” (vice
versa)
• Philia – Love for friends.
• Erotic – Passionate & intense love that arouses romantic and sexual
feelings.
Intimacy
“a close, familiar, and usually affectionate or loving personal
relationship with another person or group.”
Relationship
“It is a state of being connected.”

Visual Experience – It relies on the sense of
sight.
Olfactory – It relies on the sense of smell.
Tactile – It relies on the sense of touch.
Auditory – It relies on the sense of hearing.

The sensorium and brain’s limbic system coordinate


Sexual Behaviors
• Sexual behaviors are generally erotic behaviors such that they involve
any primary or secondary erotic zones.

• These are actions that humans agree to interpret as an expression of


their sexual motivations
Master & Johnson Model
It is four-stage “linear” model of human sexual response based on
some recordings of changes in participants' physiology. From these
data, they identified four successive stages:
Excitement - Erection (Male) and Lubrication (Female), Heart rate
increases
Plateau – It is characterized by the sustained peak in stimulation.
Orgasm – The climax. It is a stage of release wherein the human male
achieves ejaculation and the human female is ready to receive the
sperm.
Resolution – The male penis return to its normal unerected phase. The
female organs also relaxed
Kaplan’s Model
It sees the sexual response cycle as having relatively independent
stages.

Desire- Sexual thoughts and feelings.


Arousal – (Excitement and Plateau)
Orgasm – Completion of sexual response
Sexual Dysfunctions
• Sexual Desire Disorder- Low level of desire to engage in sexual
activities.
• Sexual Arousal Disorder – Problem in achieving physiological state for
copulation.
• Orgasmic Disorder – Problems in orgasm
• Sexual Pain Disorder – When there is an exp of pain during sex.
Paraphilias
Paraphilias are persistent and recurrent sexual interests, urges,
fantasies, or behaviors of marked intensity involving objects, activities,
or even situations that are atypical in nature.
