Thar Desert:

The Thar Desert, located in northwestern India and parts of Pakistan, is a classic example of
a desert climate. Desert climates are characterized by extreme temperature variations
between day and night.

During the day, intense sunlight and clear skies lead to high temperatures, and the absence
of significant moisture in the air allows for rapid heating. This can result in daytime
temperatures soaring to as high as 50°C or more, especially during the summer months.

Conversely, at night, the absence of cloud cover and moisture allows for rapid cooling,
causing temperatures to drop significantly. This is why nighttime temperatures can fall to
around 15°C or even lower in the Thar Desert.

Conclusion

 In summary, the extreme

temperature fluctuations in the
Thar Desert are due to its arid
desert climate, characterized by
intense daytime heating and rapid
nighttime cooling. In contrast, the
Andaman and Nicobar Islands and
Kerala experience stable day and
night temperatures because of their
tropical coastal climates and the
moderating influence of the
surrounding ocean.
