At the end of this lesson, the students will be able to;

a. Know the meaning of Social Literacy.


b. Value the importance of social literacy to the students.
c. Improve their social skills as a family member, a friend, co-worker,
and as an employer.
What is Social Literacy?
Social Literacy is a students successful performance and understanding of social Skills,
organizational skills, and communication skills. It is the students ability to connect
effectively with those around them. The ability of social literacy is the capacity of a person
to be able to live and contribute to his or her community, which involved intellectual skills,
social skills, cooperative skills, and attitudes and value

Why is if important?

Social literacy is so crucial in a persons success. The ability to communicate and voice

opinions and thoughts, as well as listening to opinions and thoughts of others, is essential in

learning. Firmly grasping social cues and norms is extremely beneficial. Social skills

learning improves students' positive behavior and reduces negative behavior. While

effectively preventing a variety of problems such as alcohol and drug use, violence, truancy,

and bullying, social skills learning promotes students academic success, health, and overall

well-being.

Causes
1.) Lack of Confidence - It may lead people
to make negative decisions about how they
treat themselves or let others treat them.
Causes

2. Learning Disabilities – these are the


person who has dyslexia the following
disorder;
· Dyslexia – is a learning difficulty that
primarily affects the skills involved in accurate
and fluent word reading and spelling.
• Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder
(ADHD). is marked by an ongoing pattern of
inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that
interferes with functioning or development.
· Dyscalculia – is a learning disorder that
affects a person's ability to understand
number-based information and math.
• Dysgraphia - is a neurological disorder
characterized by writing disabilities.
• Dyspraxia - is a neurodevelopmental
disorder of movement and coordination in
which messages sent from the brain to the
muscles are interrupted.
