CONCEPT OF INTEGRATION :-
Integration is the process of developing and coordinating personality
elements into balanced units, leading ultimately to a balanced whole. To
the extent that one achieves integration, intrapsychic and interpersonal
conflict is reduced.
Concept of DIFFERENTIATION :-
The concept of differentiation refers to the method of finding the derivative of a
function. It is the process of determining the rate of change in function on the basis
of its variables. The opposite of differentiation is known as anti-differentiation.
USE OF INTEGRATION IN BUSINESS :-
• Optimization. Business integration can reduce costs and operational bottlenecks
by creating streamlined and optimized processes or workflows.
• Cloud utilization. There are countless options for cloud utilization and
businesses integration can enhance operations by moving some infrastructure
and workloads into the cloud, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS cloud resources.
• Preserve legacy systems. Many businesses face compelling reasons to use
older legacy workloads. Business integration can help to make legacy workloads
interoperable with other newer workloads and workflows, enabling legacy
systems to continue working while replacement systems are developed and
refined.
• Innovation. Business integration can help a business drive digital transformation and
create new assets and services, enabling the business to innovate and compete in ways
never before possible. One example is creating a private cloud to facilitate a strong
software development team.
• Agility. Business integration can help to make the business more responsive and agile,
enabling employees and customers to access data, place and track orders, or request
service as part of a well-established workflow.
• Consistency. Traditional manual business processes are prone to errors and oversights
that can damage customer satisfaction and even violate compliance requirements.
Business integration can bring orchestration and automation that helps eliminate such
problems and delivers repeatable, auditable work.
• USE OF DIFFERENTIATION IN BUSINESS :-
1. Reduced price:- competitionDifferentiation strategy allows a company to compete in
the market with something other than lower prices. For example, a candy company may
differentiate their candy by improving the taste or using healthier ingredients. Although its
competitors have cheaper candy, they can’t provide the taste that consumers may want
from that specific candy company.
2. Unique products:This benefit of a differentiation strategy is that it builds on the unique
qualities of a product. Your company may create a list of characteristics its products
contain that your competitors lack. Those characteristics will differentiate your product,
and you may communicate this through effective marketing and advertising.
3. Better profit margins:-When products are differentiated and turned into higher-quality
products, it offers more opportunity for larger profit margins. For example, if your target
market is willing to pay a higher price for top quality or better value, you may generate
more revenue with fewer sales.
REAL LIFE EXAMPLE OF INTEGRATION
AND DIFFRENTIATION

• Differentiation and integration considered by all scientists through

out the ages as one of the best sciences that guided the mind of
man over all times The fields of the use of calculus are very wide.
It enters into many fields and are not limited to specific people or
to those who use it only. But to almost all human beings. Here are
some examples of its benefits:
1-What do we do if we are asked to calculate the amount of water required to fill a large swimming pool ?

• The answer is to determine the shape of the swimming pool and

find its size. Therefore, we find the size of the water that will fill
it. If it is a cubic or parallel rectangle, or finding its size is not
difficult in any way because these geometric shapes are
regular .any student can find their size..but what if the shape of
the swimming pool is not a regular geometric shape !! it begins
with a slight gradient and then the slope descends steeply. Then
the sides of the pool become curved, or semi-elliptical. Then it
tends to rise slightly. Is it (easy) to find the size of the water to fill
this The pool? Of course yes!! it is the science of calculus!
The total cost function of a firm is C(x) = x3/3 – 5x2 + 28x + 10 where x is the output. A tax at the rate
of ₹ 2 per unit of output is imposed and the producer adds it to his cost. If the market demand function is
given by p = 2530 – 5x, where p is the price per unit of output, find the profit maximizing the output and
price.

Total revenue: R = p x
= (2530 – 5x)x N
= 2530x–5x2
Tax at the rate ₹ 2 per x unit =
2
The manufacturing cost of an item consists of ₹ 1,600 as over head material cost ₹ 30 per item and the labour
cost ₹ a (x2 /100) for x items produced. Find how many items be produced to have the minimum average cost .

As per given information for producing x units of certain item C(x) = labour cost + material cost + overhead cost

AC is minimum at x = 400
Hence 400 items should be produced for minimum average cost
The marginal cost function of manufacturing x shoes is 6 + 10x − 6x2 . The cost producing a pair of
shoes is ₹12. Find the total and average cost function.

Given,
Marginal cost MC = 6 + 10x − 6x2
C = ∫ MC dx + k
= ∫( 6 + 10x − 6x2 ) dx + k
= 6x + 5x2 − 2x 3 + k (1)
When x= 2 , C = 12 (given)
12 = 12 + 20 −16 + k
k=-4
C = 6x + 5x2 − 2x3 – 4
The marginal cost function MC = 2 + 5ex (i) Find C if C (0)=100 (ii) Find AC
