Angles and Type of

Angles

Mr. Dominick Justine D. Faraon

Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the students should be able
to:
1. define what is an angle;
2. identify the postulates in measuring and naming
an angle; and
3. classify the angles by its measure.
Angle
- An angle is the
union of two
noncollinear rays
with a common
endpoint
Naming an Angle
○ In the figure, point O is
the vertex
○ OA and OB are the
sides/arm of the angle.
○ Proceed in the Jamboard
for the symbol and named
of the angle in the figure.
Measuring an Angle

- Use protractor in measuring an

angle
- The unit of measurement of an
angle is Degree.
What is the measure of the angle in the
figure?
What is the measure of the angle in the
figure?
What is the measure of the angle in the
figure?
Postulate 7: Angle Measurement
Postulate
- To every angle, there corresponds a
unique real numbers r where
0<r<180.
Postulate 9: Angle Addition Postulate
- If B is in the
interior of angle
ADC then,
∠ADB +
∠CDB =
ADB
∠ADC.
Example
- Using Postulate 9 find
the measure of ∠ ABC.
Congruent Angles

Two angles are congruent if and only if their measures are equal.
Angle Bisector
- ET is the bisector of
angle BEH if and only if
T is in the interior of
angle BEH and angle
BET is congruent to
angle HET.
