INTRODUCTION

Briefly explain the concept of IoT (Internet of Things) and its applications in
home automation.
 Introduce the idea of using solar energy to power IoT devices for a more eco-
friendly approach.

 In this project, we will describe that , “How can we control our home
appliances with using smarthone and internet.” So, Let’s talk about this
topic.
Materials
ESP 8266 Relay
Module

The ESP 8266 is, the name of a microcontroller A relay is an electrically operated switch. It
designed by Empressif Systems. It is a self- consists of a set of input terminals for a single or
contained Wi-Fi networking solution offering multiple control signals, and a set of operating
as a bridge from the existing microcontroller to contact terminals. The switch may have any
Wi-Fi and is also capable of running self- number of contacts in multiple contact forms,
contained application. It can monitor and such as make contacts, break contacts, or
control things from anywhere in the world combinations thereof. Relays are used where it
perfect for just about any IoT project. is necessary to control a circuit by an
independent low-power signal, or where several
circuits must be controlled by one signal.
Materials
SMPS Smartphone
&
Blynk App

 SMPS used to make a fixed DC voltage

supply. In this project, we are using a 5V Here we use the smartphone as a
(5A) DC adapter. wi-fi router for the Esp-8266
module and also use it as a
controller through the Blynk IoT
Application.
Use Cases

Smart Lighting: Automatic control and scheduling of

lights based on sunlight and occupancy.
Energy Monitoring: Real-time tracking of energy
consumption and optimization.
 Smart Appliances: Efficient usage and remote
control of home appliances.

Control
Mechanism

When a 5 volt (1A) DC supply is applied to the

ESP8266 module, the module is active. As a result, the
module receives the signal from the smartphone’s
controlling application through the input and sends the
signal to the relay through the output. Consequently
the relay receives the DC supply and becomes active
connecting the load to the AC supply. Because of this
the loads are turned on and we can control them
digitally.
Challenges and
Solutions

• Weather Dependency: Addressing the issue of intermittent

sunlight and energy storage solutions.
• Security and Privacy: Ensuring the security of IoT devices and
data transmitted over the network.
Way to improve

It is possible to further improve this project by

using variousprotectivedevic
(FirealarmGasleakageDetectobreake) etc.and
controlling devices-(GSM module , voice control
system etc.).
