PURPOSE OF THE STUDY AND STATEMENT OF THE
PROBLEM

This study aims to determine the occupational difficulties


experienced by tricycle drivers of SANISSTODA in San Roque, Baao,
Camarines Sur. Specifically, this aims to answer the following
questions:
1. What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of a)
Age, b) Income provider status, c) Years working as a Tricycle
operator, d) Civil status, e) Highest educational attainment, and f)
Average daily income?
2. What are the difficulties experienced by tricycle drivers in terms of
a) Financial, b) Passengers, c) Road accident risk, and d) Health?
3. What is the reason for choosing tricycle operation as means of
livelihood?
4. What output can be developed based on the findings of the study?
RATIONALE OF THE STUDY
The study generally aims to investigate the
occupational difficulties experienced by Tricycle drivers
in their workplace. This research is significant because
tricycle drivers are essential in the country's
transportation system, yet they face various
challenges, including economic instability, safety and
health concerns, and social discrimination. Identifying
the challenges that tricycle drivers go through can help
bring about sustainable change that empowers them
and allows them to work in better conditions.

This research is qualitative, utilizing a Descriptive research
design.

The respondents for this study are the Tricycle driver members of
SANISSTODA. Using Slovin’s formula, the researchers calculated 41
total participants.

the Convenience sampling method since it depends
on the availability of each Tricycle operator at the
SANISSTODA terminal.
