Water meter
• It is one of the most common types of quantity measuring meter used in
pipe lines for measuring quantity of flow.

• It is used by residential and commercial buildings that are supplied with


water by public water system.
Why are meters important?

Water meters are important to a utility for several

reasons:

1. They make it possible to charge customers in proportion to the amount of water they use.

2. They encourage customers to conserve water

3. They help in the detection of leaks and waterline breaks in the distribution system.
