 What is a technological generation gap?

• The technological generation gap refers

to the proposed gap between children and
adults (particularly parents and teachers)
due to young people’s natural ability to
adapt to new technologies more
successfully than older generations.
 How does the generation gap impact the understanding of
technology?

• Technological acceleration may increase the fears

of the old generation, as a result of the lack of
expertise and technological skills available to the
new generations. • The younger generations have a
different outlook when it comes to
technology
• It can be said that modern technology has revealed
a new type of illiteracy, which is the digital illiteracy
that appeared among the old generations, which
works to form a great rift and rift between members
of society.
 How the different groups ofgenerations(baby boomers, generation x,
millennials…)perceive technology

• Baby Boombers It extends from the year 1946 to 1964.The members of this generation are
characterized by the following:
-They are good at building relationships, they respect the rights of others.
-They do not judge the mistakes or problems of others.
-In addition to obeying orders, and respecting the authorities as their predecessors.
• Generation X born in the period from 1965 to 1980. Its members witnessed the
emergence of technological development and the emergence of small
computers. They are characterized by the following:
-Balance between life and work.
-A little hurry and waiting for a quick return.
-Lack of belonging to institutions, and moving between jobs.
• Melleinnials born between 1980 and 1994. This generation grew
up in the shadow of the technological revolution. Its members
are characterized by the following:
-Their satisfaction with technology, and its good use.
-Using the Internet to acquire and exchange information.
-Their lack of face-to-face communication skills.
• Generation Z those born between 1995 and 2009. They have grown up in the midst of a
massive global openness. They are characterized by the following:
-Searching for the truth, striving for it.
-The desire for originality and uniqueness.
-Open the mind and accept others
-As well as the ability to understand difference and deal with it, and make good use of
technological means.
 How can the technological gap be bridged between generations?

• Three keys to bridge the technology generational gap

-Adapt leadership styles to fuel digital growth.
-Develop education and training programs that help the different generations grow.
-Foster a diverse, open, collaborative culture by adopting new technologies.
• Bridging tech-related gaps between generations
requires improving mutual understanding between
different age groups.
 Are people from the “older” generation always wiser and correct in
their ways of thinking and choices? Why?

• Not always. Yes they are more wise in terms of the fact that they’ve lived
longer and have experienced a lot in life, but elders aren’t always right.
They make mistakes too, and they’re from a different time, so they may not
understand our points of view sometimes.
 Give one important message to the next generation.

• Don’t let your smartphone, laptop, tablet, or fast wireless connections

occupy all the time of your day, don’t bow weak to any of these
technologies, and don’t make technology the center of life.
