the hydrosphere, and to meet the current and
future human demand (thus avoiding water
scarcity). Population, household size and
growth and affluence all affect how much water
is used

Reduces water infrastructure costs. Reduces

energy use (associated with water extraction,
conveyance, treatment, and distribution)
Reduces stormwater runoff of pesticides and
other pollutants. Reduces greenhouse gas
(GHG)
emissions.

water from many sources, including:

that have been applied to land near the
