In the Intramuros of Manila, Philippines, lies a living testament to
centuries of history and cultural vibrancy—Intramuros. This
fortified city, with its cobblestone streets, centuries-old churches,
and colonial-era architecture, stands as a tangible narrative of the
nation's past. Preserving heritage tourism and conservation in
Intramuros Manila is essential to helps maintain and promote
cultural heritage while ensuring safety and welfare of people
within Intramuros. It also enhances tourism value and experience
for visitors while supporting economic development. The
programs underway aim to improve quality of living for informal
settler families residing in Intramuros. This research explores the
intricate relationship between heritage tourism and conservation
in the context of Intramuros, Manila, delving into the multifaceted
dimensions that intertwine the past, present, and future of this
cultural gem.

This background study aims to provide an overview of the heritage
tourism and conservation efforts in Intramuros, Manila, shedding light
on its historical significance, challenges, and opportunities.
Intramuros, Manila, stands as a testament to the rich history and
cultural heritage of the Philippines. Its significance as a heritage
tourism destination and the challenges it faces in terms of conservation
make it a subject of critical importance. This background study sets the
stage for further research into the sustainable development of heritage
tourism in Intramuros, aiming to strike a balance between preserving its
historical assets and promoting responsible tourism .

In terms of human causes, the challenges of Intramuros include insufficient management,
developmental pressure and unsuccessful conversation between the stakeholders.

The objectives encompass preserving its historical and cultural essence, enhancing visitor
experiences, and promoting awareness of heritage conservation.

The sustainable tourism industry need to ensure that the Intramuros Administration's have a great vision
inclusive for integrating economic growth, cultural heritage preservation, and the wellbeing of its citizens,
including locals and visitors."

In conclusion, tourism in Intramuros has a significant economic impact on Metro Manila. It creates jobs, generates revenue,
stimulates economic activity, drives infrastructure development, and contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage
